Petronella Tayamika Mahachi,you can call me Taya. I write
Afroccentric Fashion Blogs to empower women and help them solve their wardrobe
problems by showcasing some of the hottest looks and trends from the catwalks
from all over the world with a
special connection with African
influence on fashion. Afroccentric is the celebration of fashion and
success. I’m not here to make a contribution to people’s failures and
mishaps.Afroccentric consists of widely read thoughts, personal experiences and observations on fashion while spotlighting famous and unknown talent.My goal is to create an awareness of black and African designers and models
from all over the world whilst honoring their achievements, contributions and
pursuits in couture. African designers and models are hardly common figures in
the fashion industry, but the truth is they do exist.
This is a fun way for me to utilize my skills and
passion for fashion whilst celebrating the inspiration from Africa. I live in
the United Kingdom. I was born in Zimbabwe. I am so proud of my heritage.I consider myself very lucky to have had the exposure to the Zimbabwean culture as well as the British culture.I’ve had a passion for fashion from a very young age.As the saying goes "life
happened" and it took me a while to realise my dream. I am currently studying
fashion and will be showcasing my Debut Collection at Liverpool Fashion Week.My brand name is Tayamika. Prior to taking a diversion into the fashion world, I was a Makeup Artist and Beauty Consultant. I
absolutely loved the glitz and glam that came with the work.I met so many people and worked with a lot of interesting people including Ndubz.
I find it quite difficult to write about myself.
