Burberry African Inspired Prints Spring/ Summer 2012

Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey insists his inspiration for the Spring Summer collection came from the legendary English Sculptor and Artist Henry Moore. There is no denying the collection was dazzling in ethnic prints.Since Henry Moore was greatly influenced by Picasso, we could ultimately say the root of these pieces in the collection is Africa. There is no doubt the collection has an apparent tribal edge. I am impressed  by how the texture and patterns sublimely embrace Africa. This collection screams out "2012 Must Have" African inspired prints.

I have created this mood board to show how Burberry might have drawn inspiration from Henry Moore. I have also included some images from Picasso's African Period (1907-1909) which then directly led to the Cubist period.
