My favourite pieces from Duro Olowu's Spring Summer 2012 "Allure" Collection

Everything about this piece screams out "on trend!". With full skirts big for Spring Summer 2012, I cant help but fall in love with the structure of this piece. Its reminiscence of the 50's-fifties elegance.
This is how to work animal prints. One thing Olowu does well is coordination of prints.
This is a classic combination of print and pattern even print beginners will be able to work this look. We can all take inspiration from this design and create our own 1950's inspired print and pattern look. To add a bit of drama or rather - to show off your print expertise, why not team up with a pair of floral heels.
Wow! One thing I find alluring about the 50's is how subtly alluring the clothes where. Same goes for this design. The elegance of the print is no surprise considering this is Duro Olowu.

Olowu's inspirations for his Spring Summer 2012 collection
  • 18th Century French photographer & painter Jacques Henri Lartigue
  • 1950's style inspired by West Indian immigrants including Olowu's Jamaican mother who arrived in England in 1950 aboard the Windrush.
  • Olowu's London cousins from Nigeria
Here is a Mood Board I have created based on Duro Olowu's inspiration for the S/S 2012 Collection.
