The Zimbabwean born designer studied at De Montfort
University in Leicester UK. She went back to Zimbabwe after completing her
studies in 2010, where she has now set up her fashion house. She has already taken
part in various fashion shows and events. She has also dressed several models
including the reigning Miss Zimbabwe 2011. Intisaar Mukadam gets inspiration
from African tribes; she mainly uses locally sourced Zimbabwean batik and
African Java. Her designs are fresh, vibrant and very trendy for the super chic
kind of girl about town. Here is my favourites from her Spring Summer 2012 collection shown at AFW. There is so much to love from this collection. I love the way the yellow is blended into the printed textile. I also like the combination of stripes and print on the second image. Its so "OTM - of the moment". The combination of the printed textile and blue shorts is a definite winner for summer. Shorts in African prints is what I will be rocking come summer 2012. Watch this space. I will be posting pictures of what I wore.
